GAWRI
Gawri is one of the most interesting dance dramas of the Mewar culture in Rajasthan. This dance drama is performed mainly in Udaipur region by the members of the Bhil Tribe.
It is performed for 40 days during the month of August and September. The troupe has only male members; all the female characters in the drama are played by the males only.
15 classic folk tales are acted in front of the audience; each tale is different from the other and gives a social message.
During the period of 40 days, the troupe members travel from village to village to perform the dance drama. During this period,
the troupe members devote themselves completely in the devotion of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and the mother earth
